Due to reasons yet to be determined, the website of the World Wide Web Consortium, w3.org/w3c.org, is being filtered as child pornography (wget/curl) by the Finnish ISP, DNA Internet.
Update Sept 27. 3PM: DNA has removed w3c from their list, but another ISP, Mikkelin Puhelin (MPY) has added it (dig/host).
To clear up some confusion: The blacklist isn’t maintained independently by ISPs but rather centrally by the Finnish Police. The reason w3c isn’t being blocked by other operators is simple – they haven’t yet updated their lists to the latest version.

Toistaiseksi tuntemattomasta syystä W3C:n eli World Wide Web Consortiumin kotisivu, w3.org/w3c.org, on päätynyt DNA:n lapsipornosuodatuslistalle, ja DNA:n pakkoproxy ohjaa (wget/curl) käyttäjät poliisin estosivulle.
Päivitys 27.9. klo 15: DNA on poistanut sivun suodatuslistaltaan, mutta ilmeisesti myös Mikkelin Puhelin, MPY, suodattaa sivun (dig/host).
Selvennykseksi: Suodatuslistaa eivät ylläpidä yksittäiset operaattorit, vaan sen päivityksistä huolehtii Poliisi. W3C:n suodatus ei ole levinnyt muille operaattoreille pelkästään siitä syystä, etteivät ne ole vielä ottaneet käyttöönsä uusinta versiota suodatuslistasta.
Wikipediasta: W3C eli World Wide Web Consortium on kansainvälinen yritysten ja yhteisöjen yhteenliittymä, joka ylläpitää ja kehittää WWW:n standardeja tai suosituksia kuten W3C niitä kutsuu. Sen perusti vuonna 1994 WWW:n keksijä Tim Berners-Lee, joka toimii nykyisinkin W3C:n johtajana.

Apparently there is a completely undocumented feature on the Windows default mixer application sndvol32.exe. You know, the one that pops up when you double-click the speaker icon in your system tray.
Pressing ctrl+s makes it more compact!
The difference is astounding.
The same can be achieved by running sndvol32.exe with the parameter /s, e.g. “sndvol32 /s”
